I would be OK with the 14 days quarantine on return to the UK but if (when) France go tit for tat that'll make it a no go from the UK

Chris, I suggest you come to Portugal, neither us (or Spain, you'd need to cross it first) are tit-for-tat'ing. Besides you'd be reasonably safe here.
But not September, the Caramulo Motorfestival has been posptoned to October
As you can see in this (rather interesting

) poster

And if you stay here for 15 days after that then you can go further south to the Algarve and watch the portuguese F1 Grand Prix (Oct 23-25)
And if you STILL stay there, you'll have, in quick succession:
- The European Le Mans Series (one week after F1 - Oct 30-Nov 1)
- The Algarve Classic Festival (one week after the ELMS - Nov 6-8)
- The MotoGP Grand Prix of Portugal (two weeks after the ACF - Nov 20-22)
It is an overload of events, due mainly to our usually fair Autumn weather and to our relative success in keeping this pandemic contained with very low numbers, even if we are one of the top "testers" per capita (I know the UK included us in the quarantine list, even before France and Spain were there, but whatever ... )
I just hope I can attend them all with one or both my cars but firstly I hope they all really HAPPEN, that would be a good sign regarding the evolution of this crisis!
