I was wondering if anyone has recently ordered/had delivered a M3W and what lead times I can expect.

I am playing with the configurator at present and once my Roadster is sold will be ordering for hopefully an early Christmas present.

I know the supply chain is all over the place with new cars in general (understandably) and my new daily car (from Germany) is only next week getting delivered after a 8 month wait!

I looked into this before briefly taking ownership of an in-stock M3W. Had I ordered last month, I was told I would have it Dec/Jan. If it's a new build you do want, I would suggest having a talk with a retailer now.

I ordered mine in September last year and got a week 7 2020 build slot, which left the factory mid March just before it closed.

Of course it then spent 2 months getting to the dealership in California, but you won’t have that problem.

In my case I ordered ours the 6th of September last year.

The car arrived to Madrid on December the 3rd.

A couple of weeks to arrange papers and get it on the road is reasoneable (we got ours registerd and on the road end of January 2020 as we went out for holydays in Christmas).

So, if you make the sum, last year it took 3 months to get delivered.

Today? No idea. But with the Euro5 normative around the corner, I would order it right away!

How about one of these instead ?

There is some emissions regulations and other items at play so to order this year won't have much of a reflection of what has happened in the past. Trust me, if you want a build by end of the year you are best to get in contact with the retailer asap
