Is your 2002 +8 GEMS or Hotwire injections? Easy to tell , does it have a distributor (Hotwire) or not (GEMS) , also the plenum chamber for Hotwire is "oyster" shaped, for GEMS it is more like a rectangular box.
Ther reason for asking is that 2002 was the changeover year.

You recall my old Green +8? (Now owned by Jay Hale) that was built in September 2001 although not registered until 2002 and that’s a 4.0 GEMS car and was not the first built so I think they GEMS started coming out mid/late 2001.
You know MMC and change overs.....

Colin Only too well Colin! This one is particularly blurred as I know of some 2001 cars that are GEMS and some 2002 cars which are Hotwire.

Welcome. I have fond memories of driving thorough the panhandle in a Mustang on Route 66 , the Steak Ranch at Amarillo & the mid point cafe at Aiden.
