Your Roadster and £40 would be a fantastic deal to upgrade to a Plus Four Dave, however obviously not to a Yorkshireman

A better deal Rob would be to buy another car for the fleet for £40k, but I really don't have enough room.

I agree Dave, money in the bank is no use. Back in my MG days I had a immaculate 1964 MGB and a RV8 with 3000 miles on the clock that would be worth double what I paid for them now if only I had the room.

Yes but thoughts are if the sides be they carpet or leather and a matching leather top would soften the sharp edges. I guess the angularity of the tunnel shape is a necessary sop to chassis integrity though.

It does look nicer in wood but a sharpish edge as you say John. B & C Lagoon Blue Manual. Auto and alloy wheels needed I like the colour but perfect would be Sport Green/ Connaught with tan trim.

Richard with the manual box I found my leg rubbed / rested on that wood tunnel cover. The sharp edge is not pleasant after a while. The auto box has more footwell room & the problem goes away.

That's interesting, I would have assumed (wrongly) the auto would require a larger transmission tunnel

I haven’t read all the posts in this thread yet. So, to save time, having seen the problems with the Plus6 re surge on kickdown has anyone got any comments about the Plus4 auto? I imagine it would be less of an issue due to less torque/power.
I’d still opt for manual personally for me to manage the car with shortshifting or downshifting at my decision.

I've only driven the PlusFour manual... it is a delight..as long as you think of it as a 4 speed box and leave the remaining 2 gears for motorway cruising.
