good news that you have succeeded.
If you need to replace the gear knob, they come from “Richbrook”” and are supplied with a range of top decals to suit the shift arrangements of different gear boxes.

Dani

Sounds like they assembled it with Loctite, may not be MMC to be fair as they do sometimes work a little loose. If you have a hot air gun you can soften some grades of Loctite to assist cleaning it all off before you reassemble.

Well done

Thank you all a lot!

i like the original gear knob design.

My problem is just the cardan tunel cover.
There are to cuts in. One from the handbrake and one from the gear mechanism.
Than also the heat protecion stuff is just crap.
I dont know after just 20.000 km i have now to repair this.

Blimey that looks bad. After 16 years and 47,000 miles mine is fine as were my previous cars. Could it be insect damage?
I am glad we helped you get it apart

No it is just bad work.

I seems that the cover not fit straight on the tunnel maybe it needs more points that it stays in Position.
When i drive the car it is always blowing up.Looks stupid and i thing that was the reason why this the heat protection stuff get lose and damaged.

The reason for my cuts in the gear box cover and handbrake cover is that the leather went in between the sharp edges of the tunnel and the shifter
also the handbrake mechanism.

I dont know. That makes me all a bit mhhhhh.
normally this should not be happend in my opinion.

But i dont know what i can do against that its not will be happend again.
Maybe take the fabric heat protection away an glue some heat protection stuff on the tunnel and then put just the leather on the tunnel?
With more ancor points.

i dont know is this foam stuff a heat protection or is it just foam to get it soft?
