That's a good find Keith, it looks like he maybe did go through to Inverness depending on when that leg was in service.

That would be such a good thing to have back in service especially with the plethora of electric cars around most of which have very limited range.

BHM is 200 miles each way from here, so not quite as far. grin2

Closer dealers just don't cut the mustard for me.

Interesting. BHM is about 40 miles from here, I have just booked my Plus4 in - preferring a specialist dealer to have my car serviced.

My experience of dealers is limited but universally mustard. I think we are lucky to have them.

They vary a lot as John says and sometimes it's better to travel further afield to get satisfactory service.

Can't say I've been over impressed with 'dealer fixes' although can't fault them for being helpful and friendly. I accept that my Morgan was a low value, secondhand model, so the margins would have been pretty low, however nearly every fix I had done under warranty subsequently failed, and I've had to fix them properly myself.

Plus there was some simple stuff that should have been done properly at the pre sale service - missing the sump plug washer (causing a liberal coating of oil on the underneath) , timing set incorrectly causing pinking etc etc.

On the plus side, I'm now very familiar with my vehicle smile smile

A nice run out to Eye , Suffolk to meet Madmax & Mrs Madmax for lunch the Queens Head. The pub does good food but isn't in the chancellor's money off scheme.
Eye is a beautiful old wool town & worth a visit if you like old houses etc. There are plenty of examples of pargeting on the half timbered plastered walls. The church still retains some of the pained interior from the Roman catholic period , though the Protestants painted over most of it. The first priest was from 1138.
Earl Cornwallis (he of losing the colonies fame) was lord of the manor in the 1800s.

I had the tonneau cover on when parked up & got some rain going home but kept the hood down.
