I’m not sure off the top of my head but I’m pretty sure you may have used the wrong one

My Father in law worked on machine maintenance in steelworks, proper heavy engineering stuff

If someone asked him what the torque setting was, he'd say "put a long breaker bar on it, give it some wellie and just as you feel it go soft & yield, back it off an 1/8th of a turn...'cos you've overdone it lad" grin2

When I was an apprentice my old foreman only told us 3 settings, ‘Nip it Up’, ‘Tight’, ‘FT’.

He was very against torque wrenches and kept it locked in his office and you had to ask, he would then tear you off a strip as you were supposed to learn the ‘feel’, I never agreed and years later would give apprentices a rocket if they didn’t use one.

Times change I guess.

If you're feeling down just remember, you're closer to being a millionaire than Jeff Bezos is

I think I would rather be closer to being a billionaire, a million is not worth what it once was frown

Cooperman, in the steelworks I worked in the “engineers” had a mate who carried their tools. In one hand a big club hammer, in the other a BIG screwdriver. If they were unsuccessful then they would call for a welder.

My old mam was the same, never owned or believed in TR's, i later learned they were no good for certain jobs, imp cyclinder heads for one, we used to have extra thick Gaskets made and it was all about feel, there was no recommendation for head bolt changes on those type of motors.

Had to read it twice, but now I got it.😉

But be careful with correct space between words! Could be misleading...
