A while ago I moved to a village near Newton Abbott Devon.
The neighbouring property is called Pickersleigh and is empty.
I met the chap who is looking after it yesterday. He is a relative of the owners.
They are sadly both in homes, he with Parkinson's and her dementia.
He had a +8 and she a 4/4. Apparently their social lives revolved around Morgans.
I wondered if anyone had come across them. Both properties have several ash trees in the garden...

Others on this forum will have known them better than I, but Jim & Margaret Richards were stalwarts of Oggiemog here in Devon for many, many years.

They loved their Morgans, always made visitors welcome, and this final chapter is tragic.

Jim and Margaret ran Oggie Mog for many years and had many friends in the south west. They are both currently in a home together. Jim has Parkinson's and Margaret dementia. We've known them for forty years, starting with Phoenix Motors bbqs even before we bought our first Morgan in 1980.

The following is a report about to appear in our newsletter following a member's conversation with Jim:

"Just to let you know that I spoke to Jim this afternoon. It was quite difficult to understand much of what he was saying but we chatted for about 20 minutes about Morgans , Noggins and Oggie Mog etc. I understand from the care home that Margaret is no longer mobile, and that Jim is struggling somewhat .
He told me that he had sold the two Morgans to Berrybrook; last year I think (see below). Apparently, he and Margaret still have their house in  Abbotskerswell."

The home in Abbotskerswell is theirs and I fear that Jim is reluctant to let it go in the belief that he may one day return.

Their cars were sold through BerryBrook with their Roadster changing hands recently through TM.

Here they are in happier times (the car behind was bought around the same time - hence the plates). Those of us who know them have much to thank them for.

Very sad. My uncle married a girl from Abbotskerswell. They emigrated to Oz.

What a sad ending for such a devoted couple of motoring enthusiasts.

Its a time we all know will eventually arrive but at the same time, we seldom think it will ever happen to us.

As they say, make the best of every day while you can.
