Does anybody have experience running SSL suspension? The local (non-freeway) roads in Houston are terrible, leading to significant spousal anxiety when her spine is compressed from all the jarring smile. I'm hoping that an SSL suspension setup will help solve the problem.
Help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,rick

I have the SSL front and rear 5 link suspension, it transforms the car. Road holding and cornering are greatly Improved, and there’s no crashing when you go over potholes, of course it’s not as good as in a modern tin top but it still drives like a Morgan. Another added bonus is that there are no rear end leaf spring squeaks.
It’s an expensive upgrade but I think it was worth every penny.

Like Steve above my 1999 car is equipped with both SSL front end and SSL 5 Link Rear suspension.

I find the ride improvement was more marked with the front end work , the rear end was not as dramatic BUT the handling improvement was really significant with the 5 Link rear.

The car turns in so much sharper into corners , the initial understeer is totally banished and the car behaves neutrally all through the corner (unless you go into hooligan mode and deliberately provoke power-on oversteer) It is worth it for that alone , but ride does improve as well .

If speccing the kit for the rear, then request the "softest" spec dampers , used to be Bilsteins , now Spax adjustables I think, stay away from the Quantums which are too harsh.

AS Steve says the total conversion is not cheap , especially if you are having it fitted by a professional, but in my book it is value for money.

The factory 5 link coil sprung rear on April 2014 onwards Roadsters and ARP4's is also catered for by SSL. They offer adjustable dual rate spings over Spax adjustable shocks. A very quick mod with noticeably improved ride and handling. I wonder if anyone has fitted them to an ARP4 yet.
