Great pictures Heinz!

The Alps... one day...

Today my wife ask me for a shopping-tour. Shoes. In Pirmasens. She love the MOG for such spontaneous trips, fast and compfy.
And clear: for me too. Out in the MOG and in Pirmasens there is a little sport club with a beergarden and a good meal of the day.
The way home: took the long way on small and twisty roads.

Not today: cold and clouds when we start. Hood up. :-( On the way: rain. In Pirmasens: rain. So no beergarden an no twisty roads today but enjoying the „roarrrr“ and how fast we are at home.

Summary: a great day out, new shoes for my wife and at home: spaghetti with tomatosauce... my favorite meal... fresh cooked.

René

Two old dogs in two old mogs drove two hundred miles over two days when too many curves were barely enough. Put another way we explored the Semmering, Wechsel and Höllental to the south of Vienna and realised just what we have on our doorstep. We kept clear of even the Bundesstrassen as far as possible, aiming for minor roads with little traffic and plenty of hairpins. At times though, there were good stretches with at least three apexes able to be sighted ahead.

You go first. No you go first...

Proof that we considered some cross meadow driving

And found the source of Vienna's water supply, the Hochquelle or Kaiserbrunnen where 150 years ago the Emperor decided he liked the taste of the water flowing from the mountain. A viaduct, still in use, was built and the city acquired fresh, clear, cold mountain water.

Great photo's above, currently exploiting the 3.7's power climbing some Welsh hills, but can't compete with the Grobglockner

I've spent the last 7 days in Cornwall, managed to persuade the boss into going in the Morgan (she was not happy with the restrictions on packing).

It was 'interesting' driving from Oxfordshire to St Ives in storm Ellen and the weather for the return trip was not much kinder.

We did have some great drives out around the countryside, found some very lovely routes although navigating around St Ives was a different kind of fun.

@ TBM - seeing your post from a couple of days ago, I think I saw you heading through Marazion (we were walking at the time). I spotted 1 other Mog and shared an enthusiastic wave.

In the 1st six weeks, managed to rack up nearly 1,500 miles, I've enjoyed them all, including the very wet or scary ones.

Here's a pic taken this morning just before I loaded the car to come home, we had a great spot looking over the harbour, it is a very soggy Moggy!

I must remember to take more pictures, at the moment, too busy enjoying the driving.

If it was old red 4 seater, then yes, was me. smile smile I think we'd finally managed to get the roof off at that point.

Back in Rushden now - 8 hours to drive 265miles. A whole heap of traffic and lots of torrential rain......

Interesting TBM my son and his girlfriend said yesterday that this week and next the bookings are down a bit in the Newquay area where they work on two separate big sites. They are not accepting any tents where they work due to Covid.

That's a fantastic looking car, but then I would say that. You're correct, more photos please.

I suspect it was. Did you have a tonneau cover over the back seats?

We were 5 hours for 205 miles but we did set off before 09:00, guess we were very lucky.

We left at 7.45am, but avoid motorways, so stuck in numerous jams on the A303 and A34.....

And the rain around 8.30am on the A30 was positively biblical......
