Just placed an order to my regular X-wedge parts supplier (vtwinparts.com) for a roller rocker kit and received this in reply:

Steve,
Again, thank you for the order. I got your message. The trouble I have with this new order is that S&S has discontinued that billet rocker arm kit. Triple checked that this morning and they came back at me and said negative, we can not do it. So, logically the only other answers I have for you is refund vs. there normal rocker arm sets. Let me know what you think.

Call S&S directly. They are made in batches and frequently do not have them in stock.

My last conversation with the boys at S&S indicated that they would no longer have parts off the shelf for the X-Wedge engine, once their current supply expired they would be making parts only if they had enough demand.

Surely Morgan have to maintain spares availability for a certain time after they stop supplying X Wedge powered cars.

That is it exactly. That is why it took me a couple of months to get a set of roller rockers. The cams they had at the time.

I messed up a stud from having a tool break and it took a couple of weeks to get the longer studs that the roller rockers require.

Think this is going to be the new normal waiting for engine parts from S&S.
If parts are made in batches and your at the front of the queue you will be having a long wait, my car has been off the road for two and half months waiting for engine parts.

Taking advantage of the "Alternative Parts List" wherever possible.

The primary business of S&S is performance parts and engines based on the Harley-Davidson engine architecture. In the motorcycle world, the X-wedge engine, which has been around since about 2007, didn't really catch on with the custom bike builder crowd, and had very little application with the OEMs (low volume Confederate and Big Dog brands come to mind). Though it is compatible with H-D type primary drives, the much larger engine size (exacerbated by the larger V angle) and different case mounting arrangement means it will not fit in frames designed for the H-D engine. So it appears the engine has not gained acceptance more because it's different rather than because it's inferior. As far as I can find online, Morgan is the only purchaser of X-wedges in any volume at present.

So what are the possibilities to install an HD motor into the "five-speeder", using a properly machined adapter plate? It's been done before, with the Liberty ACE.
Better yet, (with the forbearance of all the piston heads here), I would envision a gutted out X-Wedge or HD Evo V-Twin, with an electric motor in place of the cushion drive. Automatic paddle shift transmission eliminating the Mazda box; topped off with a Gold Wing rear end to get rid of the whine from the bevel box. Removal of the fuel tanks would make plenty of room for batteries.
For the ultimate in drama, one could check with the Low Rider crowd to source some powerful amplifiers and speakers, and produce just the right kind of V-twin deep, throaty growl electronically tied in to the transmission. That should brilliantly round out the whole enchilada.
The name for the machine? Volta 3 (Trade mark registry in progress).
