Don't you just hate it when things start getting tatty, the filter material had rotted away completely on one side and the steel was starting to get rusty so I cleaned off the rust, treated it with Jenolite, sprayed with Hammerite satin black, fitted new filter material and retained the rear edge with a strip of stainless all fitted back with SS screws. The simple things like this give me huge satisfaction - and - NO neoprene was harmed during the work! eek hide smile

Yes that is the fun of a Mog. Plenty to fettle. That looks good.

Hi, This is my first post, so please excuse lack of a picture, as a quick look at the instructions for adding a photo made it sound a bit daunting.

Nice job Simon!
I have a 2001 +8. Same problem, the filter material on both sides has started to rot and split.
Suppliers tell me that the filter material is no longer listed as a part. So what did you use to replace it?

They suggest fishtank filter material, but I assume it needs to be quite thin as it appears to be "clamped" in place by the rubber surround. They further suggest using double -sided tape to hold it in place, but i'm unsure this would hold?

Many thanks
Ashley
