That looks like a purchase I should make. Great band, I remember seeing them at The Ritz in Manchester many years ago. Mr Pharmacist....classic.

Dave Simpson's attempt to track down all 40 former members of The Fall. That looks like a purchase I should make. Great band, I remember seeing them at The Ritz in Manchester many years ago. Mr Pharmacist....classic. I saw them a dozen times or more including flying to Berlin once. You never knew what was going to happen.

Thank you for sharing this, Bert. It will be on my shortlist now for upcoming reads. From your link to Wikipedia, I like this sentence very much: „It may well be said that Lorentz was regarded by all theoretical physicists as the world's leading spirit, who completed what was left unfinished by his predecessors and prepared the ground for the fruitful reception of the new ideas based on the quantum theory."
I like such biographies a lot. You learn so much about the history of science and also about the circumstances of life and research. Besides Lorentz, I also found the biographical literature about Pauli and Heisenberg very interesting.
BTW last week I was talking the „Lorentzkraft“ with my youngest daughter, because she had to learn this physics for the preliminary examination in her dentist education.
