So my scoring would be (so far)...

Fitting: 4/5 - probably 5/5 if you have removed exhausts before! Fitting was v simple and easy. Only think I did additionally was adjust the RHS one to be closer to the car (after I fitted it and realised I could adjust that) and after starting up ensuring the clamps to the downpipes were tightened up.

Sound: 5/5 - but I am probably biased. Makes the M3W sound like a vintage static engine. Overrun causes some crackling. Healthy roar at revs. To me it doesnt seem louder than the OEM pipes, but I didnt test it.

Performance: 5/5 - came up the hill past the John Radcliffe in Oxford in 3rd. Should have been 2nd.

Issues? Yes, should have done this sooner (ie post warranty). Would have preferred a black exhaust cover, and the option of newer 4-hole mounts. Got to decide if the new air intake cover is worth it. Means I will likely need Phil Bleazey's centa upgrade sooner (a few more slivers of black rubber fell out of the bell housing when I pulled the stopper out last month).

Black heat shields are doable.
The cheap method is barbecue paint, it's what at least one F1 team uses (or at least used) on the heat shields on their cars!
Getting more spendy is powder coating, I've used Oxford Wheel Repairs on the Horspath Industrial Estate and they are fine, I've encountered some shoddy outfits. Go for a more satin/matt finish, gloss black is a shocker for highlighting otherwise invisible distortions.
Garage 56 don't offer colours because the logistics make it quite costly.
Oh, don't forget to use a dab of anti-seize on the bolt threads (e.g. Coppa-slip), as stainless steel galls without it, and a washer under the bolt head to help avoid the underside of the bolt head tearing the powdercoat.

Two years ago I was quoted £100 to have both shields powder coated.

Recently had my G56 exhaust installed as well. Phenomenally happy with it. For what it's worth I was REALLY hesitant to get them because I thought the heat shields looked really cheap in photos but seeing them in person they look really nice.

I wish that they could have been made to work with the OEM brackets just because of how involved the install is for something that should bolt on, but it's a once in a lifetime thing so oh well.

I have a track day coming up in a week and I can't wait to see how this thing handles out there now.

MMC don't like the G56 exhausts describing them as "too large, too heavy and too wobbly"!
Difficult to make them smaller if you want the benefits of free flow without excessive noise. Shame the brackets don't mount to the chassis tube rather than the body in someway.

Have heard MMC use exactly those words myself, but the 'too wobbly' bit is the reason they don't crack and disintegrate like some of the factory pipes..... What we need are some Titanium versions with carbon shields from G56 maybe... :-)

MMC's negative comments on an exhaust created by the aftermarket to fix the crap MMC exhaust is pretty rich.

And I will take the 'wobbly' exhaust with its second flexible joint isolating the resonator from engine vibration over the OEM system, that is prone to cracking and extremely restrictive, any day!

Still love my G56 and think it is the best single upgrade to the M3W.

As much as i love my G56 exhausts for the perfect noise and build quality, on my car they are definitely "a bit wobbly", to the point of stretching a couple of the bottom side panel rivets.
I've just tried these extra little mounts from the bottom bobbin bolt to the floor bolt using stainless steel bar. The results are great removing the flex in the side skin so its just the bobbing's doing their job.
Visually you would be hard pushed to notice them so well pleased with the result.
