Many thanks Rob and Ali and also for finding the twistiest roads in Derbyshire wink

We are heading up that way on Monday, taking the chance that the lockdown will not get any worse and making the road trip we planned in June, Stratford, Bakewell (ish) Harrogate, Lincoln. Wells Near the Sea and home to Surrey.
I'll keep you posted on progress.

Suggestions for nice drives in Derbyshire and Harrogate area much appreciated

Wonderful trip to Scotland so hope this works. Photos include a shaded coffee and cake stop on side of A93 just south of Braemar, a riverside run almost at Balmoral and a daft bloke grinning at the top of the Cairn O'Mount.

A wonderful few days and yes there was glorious sunshine for that days 220 mile loop

Thanks Graham, for some reason (and I was on laptop) the Image Library looked very different from when you were here. It’s all Martian to me at the best of times but my crib sheet didn’t match what I was seeing at all.

Thanks again
Colin (Note Peters amazing wiper blades are fitted and boy do they work well! They even removed a few hundred midges!)

The route of note is the Mortimer road which passes the Strines Inn a good watering hole...the route is located between the A616 and the A57 see red oval highlighted below

Graham to the rescue again! Thanks Graham.
Colin, So glad you got decent weather and had an enjoyable driving experience thumbs
NC500 next year then? I'm hoping to complete it next month, weather permitting.

Funnily enough Gordon the NC500 has been discussed. Rather like the idea of self catering and we saw a lodge advertised and they suggest doing it over 3 daily loops. Something to ponder over the winter months.

Over 3 days might be possible if you don't intend stopping and seeing anything. I'd be inclined to plan for a longer trip and really take time to enjoy the experience. I intend to do it in both directions as well, it's a completely different experience going the other way I've found on the bits of the route where I've done this.
Go for it Colin, you won't regret it!
