An unusually warm day here so with Mrs D away visiting her mum I took the sidescreens off, put on the tonneau cover and hit the road.

Yesterday we made a late (2.00 pm) decision for a spin out.
Brynamman to pick up the A4069 Black Mountain road to Llangadog. Saw a Pembleton coming the other way near Ammanford. Nice drive with fantastic views. Not as much traffic as expected. On to Llandovery then up to Llyn Brianne via Rhandirmwyn. Walk round part of the reservoir with and Monty. Back via Landeilo, Llandybie, Ammanford onto M4 then off at J48 and home via town. We stopped at some lights and Monty was barking at balloons outside a Pizza takeaway. Smiles from people inside.

A very pleasant bimble through the Vale of Belvoir to Belvoir Castle for a walk in the grounds. When we arrived, there was a dark red trad in the car park. When we left, there was a silver Aero +8. Didn’t see either of the crews.

Replenished the fuel tank on the way home. Averaged 47mpg on that tank - the good news is that long cross country runs (my post above from 8th September refers) are very economical in my 4/4. The bad news, I obviously wasn’t trying hard enough.

Sadly not....

Taken away yet again on a trailer to Oakmere to fix under warranty....this time, back to the factory for a fix!

Stupid/brave canoeists used to ride that overflow until one was injured!
I think they let water out before it reaches the overflow these days. Whenthey do the river flow is maintained in low rainfall times but the water is COLD with a green tinge. Not pleasant wading with chest waders while fishing.

We drove up from Stratford-upon-Avon to just outside Bakewell. 130 miles on mostly A and B roads, beautiful weather and top down. We stopped at Warwick Castle for a short tour and then pressed on to Burbage to see where Angie’s granny lived and then onward.
A bit of a grind through the East Midlands until we reached Derbyshire when it became magical.

& I went to Madmax & Lady Madmax for luncheon & croquet on the lawn.
