Are Morgan now saying you must only drive their cars with the hood down in the dry, or they won't honour the warranty on the electronics? That's not good on a true sports car.

The Trad hood is a faff but I much prefer the look.

I think the tour guide said the same about the look? grin2

You did Graham when you introduced me to my wonderful car 👍 But I was thinking about a factory tour I went on just before my car went into production.

I like driving with the t-cover. Shame the CX cars don’t have one but it is not a deal breaker. Currently I set my trad up depending on the weather.
No rain...t-cover with storm cover if needed. It is modified to fit round the Librands rollbar.
Chance of rain...9stud Everflex hood, but with the rear studs fitted and the hood folded to cover the rear shelf area. This means if it rains enough I only have to pull the hood forward to fix the screen end studs. It’s my version of an easy- up 9-stud hood.
I do wonder about after market mods though. Warranty voiding must be an issue. Maybe dealers/ after marketeers would need to get MMC approval for the mods they develop? If you look at MMC history they have adopted such mods (Rutherford Hoop and steering bearings as two examples).
The adage “Morgan build the cars but owners finish them “ might disappear due to legal requirements as in some EU countries where no mods are allowed.
Let’s wait and see!

I want a tonneau on my new Plus Four! Why can’t I have one?

I wonder what goes on under the dashboard leather. I presume it is the ash scuttle. Are there any wires to drill into by mistake?! If no wires, I see no reason why not to fix the three necessary studs. Same question with the doors. As there is central locking now, are there wires all over the place under the door skin which ‘female’ press stud screws could damage?

This............... from page 1

I enquired about the tonneau cover, and had a reply from John Bellenger at Allon White to say that, "as for now, a tonneau is not a Factory approved accessory...."

Further, he mentioned that if you did fit one which caused leaks into the electrics, "....Morgan would be well within their rights to decline to cover any damage under warranty."

I hope anyone driving roof down doesn’t get caught in a downpour before stopping to put the roof up!
“Warranty void, sir. You failed to prevent rain getting to your electrics.”
Somehow I think that wouldn’t arise.
However, relying on a tonneau cover not supplied as a factory option to replace a hood is a different matter?
Could be an interesting argument.
Is there a tonneau cover available for the Aero Plus8?

in heavy rain a storm cover does a better job than the tonneau cover.
I tried both, I know the results!
