They weren't fitted as standard on my Brooklands. I had B&C fit them as part of the purchase.

BRB's Crosshead Stays were not standard on the 4/4 right up to the end of 4/4 production in 2018. Ridiculously cheap though, the October 2018 price list has them priced at £75.76 factory fitted.

Panhard Rod listed at £297.27
Anti Tramp bars listed at £270.24

Agree. On the last (2018) MMC price list BRB's were £76.00 factory fitted. I noticed an immediate difference in normal driving, but reading all the different comments on here not everyone has noticed a difference and our cars are after all not all the same.

As someone has pointed out, Brake Reaction Stays seems to be a slightly misleading name, not being properly descriptive of the effect felt at the steering wheel. If I were to baptize these again, I would choose Front End Stabilizer Stays or the like. The effect is easily detectable but moderate (in my opinion), but considering the low cost and non-complicated fitting, it is something I highly recommend. If you are going down the modification road....


Also agree. I was surprised at how easy they were to fit. The effect on my car was more than moderate however as the whole of the front end has firmed up and I drive the car much faster as a result. I would rename BRB's as 'Crosshead Stays' or 'Suspension Top Braces' and they have got to be the best value modification in my view.



"Crosshead Stays" sounds good to me, short and sweet. Now let's see if the manufacturers will change the denomination too...
To DeeJay: You might not find the front end wobbly, and of course you can live with the car as it is - just I could. So I fitted them as a fun (and relatively cheap) experiment. Chances are that the ones that fit CS will have the same pleasant experience that I had, namely a calmer and more firm front end - in nearly all conditions. And when I say "moderate effect" I say this in comparison to for example my Panhard rod, which was much more noticeable. But also more expensive and not as easy to fit. So regarding cost/benefit: surely CS.
And to SimonH (if you excuse the thread drift): where can we see a range of your products? Your website seems to be down, and not living in the UK I seldom read british Mog magazines, where I know your ads occasionally appear.

They were still an option on the last run of Roadsters, despite all that 3.7 power and 5 link rear

So going to fit them to my 1996 +4…

Do you remove the king pin top bolt fully? Just thinking what impact on the kingpin is when you do it..

I expect the car was originally on the one shot oiler system which was replaced with a grease nipple on the top bolt..

Remove the bolt completely, but sometimes it can be tricky to restart the threads. So care is needed.

Whoever added the grease nipples to my 05 Roadster (originally only one each side), hadn't figured that it also needs a kingpin with a drilling down the top, and a side drilling. The kingpins didn't have that grease channel.

I would give it all a good clean first you don't want road grit going down into the threads. When I did it I don't remember too many issues. Take the wheel of for good access and go slow.

The drives side proved tricker to fit due to steering tube limiting drill access.
