Today I got a link to an Italian video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3yrKCakCpo

She talks about 122 2.0 Fiat engines that went to Morgan.
I thought there were more - about 400 was my estimate.

If there were only a 122 +4 - how many of these were Fourseaters?
My first estimate was about 90 but there are probably less...


Does anyone know the number of +4 fourseaters with fiat engine?

The only person who I think might be able to help is Hermen Pol , who is a meticulous record keeper and has spent a lot of time at MMC going through their records.

Regarding the numbers, I wonder if the confusion arises between the 2 different capacity Fiat engines , the 1600cc unit was used in the 4/4, and the 2.0 litres unit in the +4. If both are combined perhaps the total could be 400+ units.

Regarding the split between 4 and 2 seaters I would be very surprised if the fraction of 4 seaters was as high as 90/122, the "normal" ratio is less than 1 in 4.

According to Ken Hill's book:

There were 122 Fiat engined Plus 4s. 90 were 2 seaters and 32 were 4 seaters.

Additionally there were 93 Fiat engined 4/4s. 47 were 2 seaters, 35 4 seaters, 1 works 2 seater, and 10 were 2 litre cars.

You might also want to see page 90 & 91 of Original Morgan 4/4, Plus 4 & Plus 8 by John Worrall & Liz Taylor. This has more detail.

I have a 1986 Plus 4 which I bought new from the factory and kept in the U.K. for about 28 years, using it when there on business and holiday.
Swapped out the old Bosch fuel injection for 1/2 half of a Ford Mustang Mega Squirt injection system about 5 years ago.

Having lunch here with my friend who has an 85 4/4 with the 2.0 liter engine and he just put Weber carbs on a new system as when imported to the U.S. it was converted to run
on Propane to meet U.S. regs at that time.

The Fiat twin cam is a great engine.
