Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows the front and rear axle weights?
I know when the car is MOT'd they weight the front and back seperately but I have never actually thought to make a note of it.
Now I find myself needing to know the rear axle weight with a full tank, does anyone know off hand?
I'm guessing it must be less than 200 Kg's per wheel at the back and probably much less!

If you guys don't know then I'm considering risking the bathroom scales and just lowering one rear wheel on but they might not take the weight redcard

Not sure how long there has been a requirement for these loading plates but this from my Roadster.

As these are quoted as “maximum” weights, I assume they bear little relation to actual weights on the axles, which will of course depend on occupants, fuel, etc.
The registration document for my +4 states 1400kg. The sales brochure quoted kerb weight as only 920 kg but with max total weight (including passengers, luggage etc) as 1400 kg. Quite a spread!

I weighed my 4/4 a few years back:

Front left = 191 kg
Front right = 200 kg Front 391
Rear right = 235 kg
Rear left = 240 kg Rear 475
Total Weight = 866 kg wet with tools

The method I used was to use a pair of bathroom scales with a plank on them and weighed one corner at a time, repeating it a few times and averaging it out. Not amazingly accurate, but good enough for my purposes at the time.

Front 560kg
Rear 840kg
These are max weights with total max weight 1400.
This is interesting as this is my 2014 Brooklands Roadster so basically the same car as Richards but with an extra 40kg on the rear.

Wow, that's a bit more than I thought! confused2

If I assume 250Kg's on each rear wheel I guess I'm not going to be far out then.

Thank you for your help, especially to Hamwich as now I don't need to smuggle our bathroom scales out and down to the garage laugh2
