Hello,
I'm a new member to this forum but a proud Morgan owner for 32 years.
I've recently come across a German web site that specializes in producing wooden dashboards for Morgans that interest me.

The images of the walnut dashboards are very appealing as I've always fancied a wooden dash instead of the factory original leather.
I am wondering if anybody has purchased a wooden dash from this company and also how difficult would it be to change over the dashboard in a 1979 4/4, is it something best left for an auto electrician?
Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Matthias makes first class products, if a little expensive. Changing is not beyond a competent DIY mechanic, but it is fiddly, be very methodical and label every component as you disassemble and then you should have no problem. It took me a full morning to do it!!!

I am curious about taking the dash off of my '67 +4 as well. It needs refinishing. I asked my mechanic and he said the same thing that one must be methodical, label things, and most importantly, disconnect the battery since some dash items are always hot. You could damage some electronics.
Chris, why don't you take the removed dash to a good wood working shop there in Oz and have them make it out of one of your gorgeous gnarly eucalypts woods? Could be awesome.

Sukram on this Forum carried out a full removal and rewire of his dash earlier this year, he maybe has a few tips or shortcuts to pass on ? You may like to pm him.

Thanks for the recommendation Steve, seems like the product quality is as good as it looks!
The idea of using native Australian timber to make a dash is an interesting proposition, however I'm inclined to keep the look of my car in the "European style", so the Walnut dash is my preference.
