What year is yours?

Thanks for sharing your bevelbox mount pictures Stephen.
Just a quick question, the top mount looks to be more extended than other pictures I’ve seen and the jacking bolt doesn’t look like it would reach. Is this the case or have you not finished installing it or is the chassis slightly different from earlier ones?

I cannot comment on chassis differences other than to say that changes were made in regards to the NVH mounting but what other changes were made are unknown to me.


That top mount bracket that applies pressure is in place and putting pressure on that cross member. I set it as per instructions and then loosened it and checked for movement and then retightened it. I have not tried to get to that location from behind or below so once the seats go back in place I could check that point but I will be looking/listening for movement.
I will probably trim off the excess polyurethane that extrudes from the the lower mounts. So they can be marked and a corresponding mark on the frame to check for rotational movement indicating that the top bracket is loose. The entire kit seems pretty solid to me and I am having a tough time waiting to get it back on the road for a good testing.

Once tested I will report my impressions.

Will be interesting to here your thoughts as this is something I'm planning on doing.
Also can now see i was wrong about the jacking bolt not reaching, didn't realise there is a square bit on the top of the threaded part, sorry!

Took it out for a short drive today. WOW! That is such an immediate improvement in positive feel to the clutch and throttle it is amazing.

I had never driven a cog belted machine before the Morgan and thought that was what the belt felt like; boy was i wrong! The belt is solid and all the squishy feeling was coming from the NVH. The clutch acts more like a normal i would find in the John Cooper Works mini. What a must do improvement.

As a side note, it made the fuel response feel more immediate.

Plenty of room for the extra tubing and wires that I have added.


The oil cooler lines to the Bevel Box route easily.


The top brace is nice in that it locks the BB solidly into place and you can feel zero movement coming from the drive trAin under acceleration.

When I saw Phil Bleazey's video, I noticed he says you have to "cut" the mastic that sticks the floor plates to the chasis tubes, to force the space to insert his kit. As my car has this mastic, but no central plate below the propshaft, I do not like this idea of "unsticking" my floor panels from the chassis tubes, as Phil's design will make a gap through which dirt and water can ingress the cockpit's floor.

I see in your first picture that you have done a couple of cuts in the floor plates to allow the Phil's piece to get in. Have you anyway had to "unstick" the mastic between the floor panels and the chassis tubes? Let me know how you've done please!

I did unstick a small portion of mastic. I looked at it this was, lot of dirt gets into the cockpit anyway and it is cleanable. However, when rain or car washing water might get into the cockpit it is just stuck there like a mini wading pool. Phils release of part of the floor pan allows for a drain.

It is possible to reglue by caulking all the places that were released and the area around the Bleazey mount. So far i have not done that.

I think the deepest my wading pool ever got was about 1/2 inch
