Hello everyone Let me introduce myself, my name is Jacques, I am 69 years old, I am French and I live near the Spanish border on the Mediterranean side. Forgive me in advance if my messages are not always understandable because my English is very poor. I'll do the best I can with old school memories and google help.
The Morgans are a young man’s dream. I was lucky to make my dream in 2006 with a 4/4 70 th Anniversary and recently the purchase in England of a used MTW of March 2014.
Before returning to France my 3W had the chance to meet Phil Blaezey for the installation of the B.B, CENTA and DRIVE CHAIN kits. We also checked other fragile elements on the 3W. Phil's knowledge and experience has enabled us to change some broken parts, repair and improve others. Without these repairs my 3W would not have been able to cover the 1800km to my house.
Since buying the MTW I have been watching the forum regularly, and I would like to thank everyone who posts .For someone like me that allows me to learn, know better, develop, and maintain his 3W. I hope I too can someday contribute to bringing experience to the forum.
For the first ride with with my wife !!!!!!!!!!! The speedometer has gone crazy! the needle is at the maximum possible, the screen has written a lot of digits which change depending on the speed then it wrote INPUT for a long time and after then it wrote FREQUENCY. I pushed the turn signal button, but that doesn't change anything. When i stop the engine the needle returns to 0 but as soon as it starts again the same cycle occurs. I haven’t verify all the electric wires at this time and i will do it this afternoon but perhaps somebody had the same breakdown ?
Thank’s for the answer and good afternoon every body Jacques

Jacques, your English is fine and welcome to the M3W madness.
I would look at the wires around the sending unit on the front wheel. From what I understand that the sensor can fail or give erroneous readings. Just looking at the exposed wiring there makes you think why would Morgan make that wiring so exposed.
2019 M3W Sold and is now in Las Vegas enjoying the showgirls :-)

Bonjour Jaques If the speedometer system is similar to the 4 wheeled morgans, and you have a trip meter on your speedometer to measure the distance on a specific journey, the trip reset button has three functions. One function is to switch the mileometer between total mileage and trip mileage. Secondly, when showing trip mileage, a long press will reset the counter to zero. The third function (this is where your problem may be...) if the button is held in whilst starting the engine, the speedo goes into calibration mode where information can be entered to alter the measurement accuracy .It appears to me that it could be stuck in that mode? Try operating the button a few times or it could be a loose connection. If none of this applies to you, I am sorry to have wasted your time.

Welcome to TM Bilymog. The M3W speedometer is not the same as the 4 wheel Morgans item, at least entering the calibration mode is different. It sounds like your speedometer has gone into the calibration mode with the messages of INPUT and FREQ, this is usually done by shorting two wires together at a plug in the loom but either your speedometer is faulty and done this on its own or the wires have shorted somehow. There is a set of instructions about calibrating the speedometer on the Morgan Three Wheeler Club website https://www.mtwc.co.uk/news-post/. They are available to members and were published in December 2019 . If you cannot access them PM me with your email address and I will send them to you. If you know how the system should work this may help with your diagnosis.
