A couple of the clips have screw heads but the awkwardly placed clips have the ones you need to squeeze with pliars. It's all frustrating 😤 Just snip or Dremel them off, then use new when you reassemble & you can position them to be accessible for re-tightening Good luck with that, it's buried at the back of the engine almost under the bulkhead. You can barely get your hands in....

No better from underneath. I've changed the short straight hose below the thermostat housing on my Roadster and be under no illusion it's a tough ask.

Brian Miller did my hose & said it was an expletive deleted job.
The pipe was leaking because the top of the thermostat housing has corroded

This is what happens when an engine intended to be mounted E/W is adapted to go N/S, stuff that was at one side of the engine ends up at the back.

When I built the Roadster for the 2007 24 hr Britcar race, I binned the entire cooling system and started again.....

That's exactly what I was thinking. I take it it won't matter me replacing the pinch clips for ones that you screw? Seems odd that two different types are used.

I've had the air filter assembly off and managed to get my fingers on the bits you pinch, at the back so would be able to get a tool onto the clip to cut it off. There is, however, still little wriggle room to try and prise it out. Might just end up leaving it to the experts, as there's an issue as to why the engine overheated, and had low oil pressure.

The verdict from the garage is all that's needed is a replacement thermostat housing and coolant. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the head gasket. They have also changed a leaking radiator cap, so the most likely cause for the overheating is the loss of coolant through the radiator cap. They spoke to morgan, who claimed that oil pressure of 1 bar isn't unusual due to the location of the sensor. It was fluctuating between 1 and 2, but did drop below 1, but this was remedied when the engine cooled and I topped up the radiator header tank. I future I need to get used to what levels are normal, especially the water temp, as what I thought was normal, quote possibly wasn't.
