Hi

Looks like I’ve been a little tardy in this post, as I took delivery of my 2016 4/4 in February in a howling gale and sleet. Needless to say it did not go anywhere that day, and after a blast around Bowland with an overnight stay at the Inn at Whitewell, lockdown ensured limited trips for a number of months.

Summer saw increased activity, with a couple of nice runs to North Yorks and Herefordshire. The (to be) planned trip to Alsace though had to go by the board.

After taking redundancy nearly two years ago now, and deciding early retirement was preferable to work, I finally decided to realise my teenage dream of owning a Morgan. After signing up to the Morgan Used Car Market, after many months, a 4/4 at Williams Automobiles caught my eye. Five days later I became the proud owner, of what they tell me is a Phantom edition.

If I could fathom out how to load photos would include in this post, tried both Dropbox and BTCloud. Neither appear to work, at least not in the Preview New Thread. (Any advice welcome, jpeg v jpg?) I'll add them in the Photo Gallery

My wife reckons the smile on my face has not subsided yet.

Welcome.
I've taken tea/coffee at the Inn at Whitewell, during a 2011 LeJog trip.
Easiest way to load photos into threads is to join www.tm-img.com. It's free, run on a donations basis, by a fellow TM member. Instructions for use are easy to find from the menu.
Redundancy led to semi retirement here, too! smile

Hi and welcome. This is a great site for getting advice on all the little things that you will come across with a Morgan. I bought mine 3 years ago and with lots of help from the people on here have had nothing but fun with her. When I picked mine up it was absolutely pouring down but I had a 220 mile trip home. Soon got used to fun of a Morgan hood in the rain. Enjoyed every minute of that trip and the many others I have since taken. I am hoping for redundancy from the job I have been doing for the last 28 years, If not I will definitely take early retirement and spend the time enjoying the Morgan while I can.

P.S. Love the pictures.

Welcome David from a very wet Aberdeenshire. Morgan use has certainly been curtailed this year but fingers crossed for the future.
Congratulations on joining the Morgan community 👍

Welcome. I too bought my 4/4 sport as a retirement present to myself ten years ago. The smile has still not faded.

Welcome from o'er thill in Standish.

Congratulations on your purchase, that's a cracking colour scheme.

Plus you have plenty of countryside on your doorstep, just be careful of the average speed cameras near you (which I am sure you are well aware of!) cop wink

Early retirement and getting a Mog seems to be a regular theme - same with me recently. I'm not all that far from you either, so shout when you are having a drive out this way and we can compare notes.

All being well, will be in Fife in the car next summer. Son lives in the East Neuk, with a new born, so the trip we have planned will need our Disco Sport loaded to the gunnels. Looking forward to the East Coast, and the windy roads.

Have made good use of the Forum so far, I've fitted Rog's bump stops, thoroughly recommend.
