Got my first +8 aged 22. 😎 Bought it with my father and it was a 85 carp model. I was kind of lucky that he didn’t ´t liked the car and I could use it everytime I liked. 😜 Now I am 55 and after four +8 I now have my 2018 +4. It is a fantastic car, but I have to say, I miss my first one! The sd1 carp models were the best! Even compared to my 4.6. My dream would be cx +4 and a 78 - 85 carp model with a rpi engine.
I was about 6 years without a Mog, but then it shows, that living without is possible but senseless. 😉 As long as I can get in and out of the car (1,93 m) I will have one in my garage.

tommog, I have a 1985 carb +8 which as a low mileage barn find was stripped around the year 2000 and subjected to body-off nut and bolt rebuild by a Morgan enthusiast garage owner to concourse standards, I bought it in 2002, toured France Spain and Italy, though it has still covered few miles, perhaps 43K in total, thus has plenty of life left..(-: Not much use to you as it is RHD

The carb fed Morgans are perhaps the simplest to repair and maintain in the long term, though quite how the politics around global warming might impact the use of old pre digital combustion engine technology, I can only guess..

Perhaps best to enjoy that which we can while we can..?

Now many Morgan drivers have told their story...how old they were when they drove their first Morgan. But I understood the quoted post to mean how young the youngest Morgan driver here in the forum today is?

BTW I was 46 when I bought my first Roadster in 2005.

My daughter, 17, LOVES to drive my Plus4 (me next to her).
She already dreams of taking it out when She turns 18 in two weeks

Not at all. We have had loads of fin over the years - mostly horse and Morgan related. Just made sure we were not profligate and paid extra into pensions. Now we sit back and watch others of our age who have another 10-15 years of mortgage left to pay plus a car on HP and we are grateful we made the decisions we did.

I was 18 when i got my 1st Morgan ,a 1959 +4 4seater which needed major work. It wasnt bent,just neglected.Cost me 250 pounds!!
My +8 found me when I was 27 and we are still together!! It was 3 years old, had 6 previous owners and I paid 1973 list price. At the time the wait list for a new +8 was 6 years.

6 previous owners in 3 years! That must be some sort of record for any car, let alone a Morgan.
