OK, has anyone tried a steam engine? Lots of torque.
There is certainly lots of talk about the various possibilities.

This Indian engine suggested would be perfect, water cooled, overhead cam, just shame its unit construction ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/10/25/F9CBD4EE-44BF-49E3-9311-27C7BC1D1AC2.png) It is interesting that Indian wants toclaim "1901".... as long as you don't remember it was RIP in 53, and is it two or three attempts to restart in the 90's

let us hope Harley has dropped its Sportster range for Europe. One wonders when or whether it will update its larger engines to comply with regulations in a market where its sales are low. Bear in mind also that HD currently faces a 25% tariff for imports to the EU, so even if they did have a compatible engine for M3W Mk II, it might not be economical for MMC to use them.

Per article in the Wall Street Journal this morning Harley will drop all the cheaper lightweight models and cut at least 100 dealerships in the U.S. They will focus on the long running heavy expensive bikes.
I wonder if this will include the electric bike which was under development and from what I can tell developed zero interest from potential buyers. In Cave Creek, AZ we have a bike week twice a year with up to 15,000 bikes over the weekend--mostly Harleys. I stopped buy to look at some of them two weekends ago and asked a couple of guys what they thought of the "electric" version.
The best reply: Riding an electric Harley would be like kissing your sister! Nuff said.

TomS, that is pretty funny, and something I would expect from a Harley rider.
For me, more than 50% of the M3W is being able to put out a roar and fly like the wind when necessary.
The light at the end of the tunnel is actually a train. 2019 M3W

The stock market must have liked the new CEO's direction. Harley stock up 20% yesterday and 22% this morning. Did not see todays close. Both in a down market.
I will stick to my M3W.

There may be newer information, but my understanding is that the 1400 is being discontinued. Not only does it not meet Euro 5 but California sales have been poor. You may be right, I am somewhat out of touch these days, even though I live less than a kilometre from the factory. I was able to confirm today that the last batch of California 1400s are going through production this week. No replacement is on the horizon but it is rumoured that there will be a new 1000cc bike for the 100th anniversary of Moto Guzzi next year.

Good news. That's what they need: the technical refinement of the V85 in a larger, longer-stroke package.
