Hi, been a while! My speedo cable seems to be at issue. I have a small box attached along it that’s attached to the bulkhead. Seems it works from the speedo to here but not from here to the gearbox. Anyone got any ideas what this box could be? I’m the only owner since 1992 so nothing changed from factory. I don’t seem to be able to lad a picture here.

Likely a tiny gearbox to match main gearbox output shaft drive to speedo.

The speedo cable is in two parts. You have found the junction between them. As for photos, you need to host them elsewhere and then link to your post e.g. join www.tm-img.com (instructions for use are available on that web site).

The junction box is a transducer that provides a road speed signal to the ECU so it knows when you come to a halt, as you come to a halt with foot off the throttle the ECU keeps the revs up for a few seconds and then drops them down to idle.
