Due to Covid and cancellations there were two rapidly rearranged weddings in our area over the last couple of days, the first being in our church where Heather verged until the bride arrived in order to keep the magic 15 figure.

We took a trip out to Buckfastleigh today for a walk around the gardens and then onwards to Dartington Estate to do similar enjoying the freedom, on the way into the estate is the village church and the 15 were assembled outside for the photo session. I was instructed to stop and of course obeyed they all donned masks at one point for the Covid special shot.

One common thing about the weddings is that although they were both very young couples the first one had a 3 year old in tow and the second a couple 3 year old's, the order of things seems to be a little lost on them these days, We were pleased to see them enjoying their big day and the weather was good too.

Yes Ray you must be right but it still makes me smile.

Mind you they mostly look like teenagers getting married too these days which probably says more about me than them..

Our two girls were in their 30's when they married so it's changed quite quickly really, mind I'm only just getting used to the term blended families having had it explained to me by higher authority yesterday.

I'm pretty sure our son and his girlfriend of 18 years will not get married.

Having seen the cost of weddings, I can understand why!

Been with my partner 16yrs and we have no intention of getting married. Her brother got married a couple of years ago, and her mum accepted that it was never going to happen with us, so chucked us a couple of grand in lieu of a wedding. We got the bathroom done. Who says romance is dead. smile smile

Can't remember where I read it, but apparently the amount of money spent on the wedding is generally inversely proportional to the length of the marriage.

'Er indoors and I got hitched in the Registry Office, had a small reception in the local hotel, and honeymoon was 2 days in Wandsworth staying with a mate. Every penny we had went into doing up the house. Never regretted it for an instant.

Judging by one or two of my slightly distant relatives, I think that may well be correct!

Yep, one of Bex University mates is now on her third in the same time we've been together..... 1st Wedding was a very lavish affair (well over £10K), 2nd was much smaller and a bit more subdued. Third was a quick registry office job. Fingers crossed for the last one!

Yep, likewise ..... jeans and t-shirts in the registry office with the obligatory two mates as witnesses .... headed out to the coast via a pub lunch for a loon about on the beach .... back to work the next day .... 40 years and counting.

Rich having watched a lot of my friends marry fairly young, have kids and then divorce I worried about it a long time before meeting the right one once I had matured. Someone pointed out a good thing re your comment on the wrong order.

If they had kids, stayed together through three years and then still decided to get married maybe it proves they will make the long haul. Better than finding out they were on the way and then having a shotgun marriage only to find they did not love each other and split harming the kids. Who knows maybe we got it wrong!

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
