That is just about perfect! Love it!

I'm quite lithe, but can see why some struggle to get out of the Elise.

I decided not to try getting in one, in case I got stuck!
The Evora, on the other hand, was a delight for ingress/egress. Not driven one though.

Graham ..... When my mate who owns the fabricators and I were modifying my single seater for hillclimbing I said if he fitted he could have a shot round the track in it next test day ..... he's a big 'rugby player' sized bloke but he wasn't going to pass on the chance ... got in with some straining and shoving .... however, getting out was another thing .... in the end it was the workshop forklift with a strop under his armpits to gently extract him .... I still remind him every now and again ... well you would, wouldn't you ....it's what friends are for!

The Elise is a fine car to have .... I have friends drive them and won't ever give them up .... I can remember the first one I saw ..... so new that I wasn't even aware of them .... a yellow one driving down the main street of Llangollen in North Wales .... stopped me in my tracks .... was months before I finally identified it as a production Lotus .... definitely a case of the impact being genuinely due to the design rather than the badge.

Congrats on achieving your Lotus target Rich.. Nice image too, you certainly picked an ideal spot to photograph your Lotus.

From the first time I saw a Lotus in the 60`s I was truly smitten and was fortunate over the years to own a few, the original Elans being my favourite with the somewhat iconic Ford Twink and bullet box...Of course being a born CARsonova, I ever desired to sample a variety of marques, though my fondness for Lotus as the first car that blew my socks off by introducing me to what a REAL sports car should be... has somewhat stuck firmly in my psyche.

I suspect that there may be little to compare between the Morgan and Lotus of similar eras in terms of their overall competence or feel on the road, thus to have access to both to suit ones mood on the day seems close to ideal, perhaps the beginnings of creating a harem....

Got to agree with that comment. Had I wished an ( expensive) divorce, all I would have needed to do it to put a video of SWMBO trying to get out of my Lotus on the net.

Nice one! I remember the first time I tried to get out of a pal's Lotus 47 replica - easiest to crawl out.
Didn't stop me going for a JPS Europa a year or two later. Not for long though - realised it was a great license loser.

If you fancy a trip down memory lane this one I think is still up for sale
£34,995 bit pricey. But the number plate suits so many of us Still one of the best shaped cars of all time IMO.

Agreed on the shape Peter! Good plate Doubt I'd get into one nowadays, never mind out again!
Back then I was a lot slimmer!
