Heinz, while I like you would hope to see the fire that has been lit under the obvious divisions in the US extinguished, I suspect there will ever exist those who would wish to fan the flames. It seems we may be living in the era of the disruptors being in power on the planet, populist ideas fanned by unlimited access to the internet promoting the politics of grievance, which seems to have been the trend for a while now..? Neuro linguistic programming by way of a catchy phrase and a bit of flag waving is a good start, then they are off and running..?

With a huge percentage of the American electorate not voting for Biden/Harris, the Democrat leadership will be walking on thin ice if indeed they want to try to keep things calm, I wish them luck. I do not care to get into politicking but in more recent years have taken some time to observe such matters. It would seem that Americans may associate socialist tendencies with Communism and the cold war and from that standpoint many will be totally against that which they think may be the Democratic parties ideals..?

On the other side of the coin I suspect not everyone who voted for Trump was actually voting for the man, but for the historic values that the Republican party represents...? I can imagine it may be possible that there could exist similar loathing for Trump in areas of the Republican party as exists in the Democratic party...?

As for the Democrats it seems their policies in California may not have worked out too well, given the finances of that fair state seem to be in some degree of turmoil and were so prior to Covid..?

I also picked up on one former UK finance minister suggesting that it took the UK an inordinate amount of time to pay back the loans from our cousins across the pond relative to the debts incurred as the result of WWII, and that the likely costs of Covid may keep the young similarly indebted for the next fifty years..!!! Looking at the ratio of household let alone national debt to GDP, I suspect he may well be correct. as I imagine the Covid effect seems likely to perform a rather large whole world economic re-set over time...?

Well the good news is that all the legal threats appear to unfounded so far. The margin is sufficient and broad enough that it will be difficult to overturn. I cannot wait to see the bouncers dragging him out.

Any stakes on Ivana giving him the boot?

Given that he managed to pee off so many of the staff of the white house, military and political aids I have a suspicion he is going to need every penny in legal bill support he can get. I think that he could spend the next twenty years in court. His tax may now be open to investigation formally given how much he peed them off. It's going to get interesting.

I think his choice of playing golf yesterday was quite telling.

I wish Bieden and Harris the best moving forwards.

Trump did some good things for the US and getting over 70m votes is not to be sneezed at. However his conduct in the last three months and moving forwards will probably be how his one term will be remembered. Quite rightly, not the conduct of the statesman of a country of that scale.

It seems there are those who think he will leave the country to escape the law, Germany is out of the question as he owes Deutsche Bank millions, now where else does he have golf cour....OH NO... BUILD A WALL...!!!

Ayrshire Post headline, Local golf course owner looses American presidential election.

Another bit of fake news is that he will resign, making the current Vice President become President and get him to pardon all the former presidents alleged law braking... Could be more fake news...?

They probably don't need to. Apparently he's a Jedi-level cheat:
