That is bad news SFO, I had hoped it would be easier for my aged bones to get in and out of a Porsche than my old +8...Pity. It is over 20 years since I last sprung in and out of a 911...!!!

I had a 928s in 2014 for a few months. I had found and imported the car on behalf of an interested party from the USA. A very well maintained car for 11.000 € including customs and freight. It is not a 911 but that was always the wrong comparison. The 928 was a fantastic GT. Maybe too good and too original for its time. As a side note, the 928 slumbered as a concept for many years in the drawer and it saved a lot of development work for....the Panamera.

A non GT 911 or a GT 911 without the bucket seats will be fine.

See pic of buckets seats .. it’s relatively hard core

Gotta admit I love garage queens and old dirty in need of love machinery too, guess I`m just a bit of a CARsonova when it comes to cars and much else automotive..?

Heinz, there was a time when it seemed to me that the 928 was perhaps the bargain top end Porsche, given the game of Russian roulette that for far too long seemed to affect a percentage of the water-cooled 911 derivatives relative to IMS failure and bore scoring up to circa 2008, which was negated to some degree for those who could afford to stick with OEM maintenance and mechanical insurance programme...?

SFO, many thanks for that heads up, I had the good fortune of attending a Porsche track day a couple of months back in the slight break in Covid restrictions we enjoyed in my part of the world. I had a quick wander through the pits to grab some close up`s of the cars and a blue GT3 RS fairly grabbed my attention. Just as well you mentioned the issue with the bucket seats SFO, so I can cross that and the GT2RS off my target list too....(-: On the day I spent the majority of my time around the track trying to grab a few pics, will try to attach one of my favourite car captured on the day.

Dean, I wonder if it is not more down to access and egress with buckets than comfort whilst seated...? If my Mog had buckets it would be unusable by me these days..sigh..!

BTW if there is any interest in Porsche YT vids, this chap makes excellent presentations, he can drive a bit too, perhaps he should be asked to see if he can master the Plus Six..?

In this vid he asks a question I asked myself when as the owner of a 10 year old 911, I was invited to drive the then new to market 993... Interesting that the same question is still being asked and at a very different stage in technological advance...? One could of course apply the same question to Morgans...perhaps...?

OK,OK at the start the vid might seem a bit like a rich boys day out, but his logic kinda works well for me but if you can`t stick it, if you jump in at 10:17 you might tune into my reasoning behind posting the URL..? Bottom line, in my estimation this chap can drive, enjoys the process greatly and knows how to share his experience on video rather well..?

I find those bucket seats super comfy. I have them on the boxster and after a long drive they are better than the standard ones I had on mine 997.

I find them comfortable too for long journeys .. it’s not as easy to get out of as normal seats, which is the hard core reference

When chatting to the Dealer whilst awaiting Bank Transfer going through, I was asking about how he values things that are so outrages
He mentioned he had a G Wagon arriving soon that was £142k and explained initially it would look expensive compared to others on the
market ( if any) one of the options it had fitted was lumber twisting seats, in otherwords as you turn a hard corner the lumber on the G force side lifts and comes inward to hold the Driver/Passenger crazy3
