ROFL Thingies it is ;-)

They really work well, mine were well tested over the Cairn O’Mount last September. A post trip check showed small witness marks on the main leaf of the spring so for me they are set just right. No bumps or bangs whatsoever.

Thanks to your excellent advice Rog. Pal had some wood offcuts and made a 35mm block so setting was very simple. Probably the best and simplest Mod I have ever seen on a Morgan. The cars should have been built with your Thingies on!

I’m sure there were things the factory could have done to prevent the bottoming over the years. It wouldn’t have been difficult or expensive to have engineered some form of assist into the damper hoop or even have introduced the 5 link much earlier.
