The wiper arms are indeed a weak point , either the blade flies off the arm (worst case the arm scratches the windscreen) or the whole unit comes off the spindle (tends to do less damage)

By stopping in time you have probably saved windscreen damage (but got rather wetter in the process!) You can drill the arm to take a small nut and bolt , or bend the tags on the arm with pliers to get a more positive fixing , but by far the best solution is to use some of the newly made up wiper blades done by an enthusiast on this forum (Cooperman?) they are brilliant and don't have the fantastic drag on the factory units so they won't fly off.

It's MR11MOG who does the blades.

I've had a blade disintegrate and an arm fly off.

The new blades are a good tight fit and good quality stainless so unlikely to fly off. I've also converted to adjustable wiper arms - means I can adapt the length accurately and they fit with a screw 'tightener' rather than a spring clip. Much more secure.

Thanks again for the welcomes. Also the wiper info, I have contacted MR11MOG about new blades, unfortunately out of stock at present but should be available soon.

Welcome and enjoy - Morgans do not melt in the rain so go for it whatever the season. However do be wary of icy roads - I speak from painful experience!
