Anyone had this? Having reconnected the battery on a relatively little used mini One, the Autostart won’t work an the console displays an error code, saying that neutral gear needs to be recalibrated. Fault code cleared, but the a/s still doesn’t work.
Not much joy on the Mini forum, so trying here (for a friend).

I would disconnect and reconnect the battery as a first step.

Just a thought, is the battery fully charged? My AS switches off if it deems there is not enough charge to activate the autostart.

Is the battery fully charged, the start /stop function on my mini does not work if the car has been stood for a long time

Had the same during lockdown v1 with our new mini. Even with a charged battery the car needed driving about 20 miles before the auto start kicked in.
Take it for a decent run and then see how it is
2012 Plus 4 in Sport Green. Much comfier than the Plus 8!

It’s on a brand new battery, but might need a decent run And perhaps an Italian tune-up, don't forget modern petrol is renowned for losing VOC's and going 'off'

Likely the battery being insufficiently strong to support the A/S. They are smart little things. Get one of the solar battery chargers that plug into the OBD socket.
amazon.co.uk/AA-Essentials-AA1432-Battery-Charger/dp/B084M5ZL5L/ref=sr_1_5 as an example. Provided it is in the Sun of course.

The stop/start function on our late 2015 Clubman Cooper D has a mind of its own and overrides much of the time unless it's been used regularly on long runs. An icon does show its disabled though.
