Interesting thought, but I would have thought Morgan a little too "niche" (a nicer term than "Victorian") for a German manufacturer.

No idea on the engine speculation but I would assume that decision has already been made. A sweet smooth shopping-trolley 1.5 3 cylinder would seem an odd choice unless the next M3W is a mere Plus Three with a rear wheel missing. But then the electrification options from BMW are probably alluring. Would love to see the aforementioned Harley-engine in an M3W, or a Moto Guzi.

Maybe we'll get both the F2-type inline engine and another wilder Hog -powered one? smile

I’m reading this with interest having been away from Morgans for the last three years. I’m starting to get ideas about buying a three wheeler 😳. I have to say, much that I’ve been a huge fan of BMW boxers over the years, I don’t think it looks right on the front of a MTW. It historically should be a V Twin or an F Type inline. The BMW with the gearbox too would also end up pretty nose heavy.....it needs the MX5 box where it is to balance things out.

Re a BMW boxer in a three wheeler, here's a stillborn project from the days when I had less money, facilities, and skill. It still resides in my garage, awaiting a rescue. 750cc power from a BMW R5, with shaft drive to BMW rear swing arm.

These boys know how to engineer the BMW engine and drivetrain into something very special with a quality strong frame.

I'd take the Pembleton Four wheeler in preference to any of the lighter cars though tbh I love the look of it T24.

The Scorpion weighs 680kg, almost twice that of the T24 and 140kg more than the M3W

Yes I can see that having seen one of their frames - it's meatier than a meaty thing.

The 4 seater Scorpion is 680Kg but does 155mph and 0-60 in 3.2 S so no slouch with 360bhp on tap Scorpion 4 wheeler and all that for 26k smile

I know where I'd rather be sitting when push comes to shove..

Steve, is that a Speedway nose and T front end assembly? Looks vaguely familiar... smile

Dan,

You are spot on on the nose, and while most of the front end hardware is from Speedway, the axle itself is a wider than standard custom unit (to give a 60" track-just about the same as the M3W coincidently) and the wheels are Hallcraft 19" spindle mounts.
