This is a possibility for the towed away MOG. https://monimoto.com/shop/LoJack might make something for motorcycles too.

Me too. My 2012 arrived in Oct. that year. Spare key hanging on garage cupboard since then never used. Just ran out to the garage to test. No problem. Started immediately.

If all this fails you can always remove the immobiliser from the system by making and fitting an immobiliser jumper plug, as detailed on page 66 of the M3W parts list Ver 5.2 item C-47 on the RH side. You will also need an AMP Multilock 070 12 way male plug and pin set. Morgan could supply these at one time but don't seem to be able to now. I got my plug from www.simtekuk.co.uk and they were very helpful. With the jumper fitted the immobiliser is out of the system, handy for diagnosis as well as a small, light item to carry in your spares bag that may just come in useful one day? Just been looking back at this as and it seems I got the connectors sex wrong, it should be an AMP Multilock 070 12 way FEMAIL plug and pin set (CON-127). Apologies to anyone who may have got the wrong half. The next Alternative Parts List will be amended.

Keys, how does one get a key replaced that will fit the lock and work properly? Is there a manufacturing code where a key could be sent from the factory replacing a lost or damaged key?

It is a Peugeot lock barrel, so I assume it is also a Peugeot key and, as there is no chip in it, a standard key cut from a blank should be fine from a hardware store.

What doesn't work with the replacement key Lightspeed? Will it not fit in the barrel, not allow it to unlock the steering lock, or not allow ignition? I only ask as there was a problem with someone on this forum who replaced the barrel but couldn't get the steering lock to work correctly, fine with ignition. Just wondering if there is a matched chip in the tip of the key, as there is on most modern keys?

I went to the local locksmith who cut me a new key from a blank and it worked just fine. This was after I slid down on the seat with the key in the ignition lock hitting it with my knee and almost breaking it in two pieces.

It fits into the barrel just fine and it appears to be the correct length but they seem to have trouble cutting the key because of that bloody big plastic handle on the end. I have been tempted to removed that plastic but I don’t know how far up into the plastic the metal goes. It boils down to the accuracy of cutting the valleys and ridges to engage the tumbler pins.
