There is nothing so special that we can't make it or get it made for the M3W. After all that has been the situation for decades so why worry about it now? Look at many of the owners clubs, both car and bike, and their spares schemes. Where there is a will there is a way - as my dad always said!

The ‘X’Wedge is also fitted to confederate and Hesketh motorcycles so does that mean the end of their road too?

In the USA, auto manufacturers must continue to support discontinued models with parts for 10 years. Not sure about motorcycles, as my 3W is classified.

Maybe the so called credible sources mean that the 121” X-Wedge will be discontinued and the others will remain in production.

That is interesting, i took delivery of mine 7 July 2019 so maybe it is the last one made by MTWC. Any way to find that out?

Being pedantic, the normal abbreviations are MMC for Morgan Motor Company and MTWC for Morgan Three Wheeler Club.

There are around 15 -20 regular M3Ws left to go and then the last M3Ws will be the 33 P101s which will probably be delivered around March - April ish next year.

MTWC, Morgan Three Wheeler Company, and yes there is the club with the same acronym but the discussions was companies being dissolved. I was unaware that they were two separate companies.

I would bet that a lot of the parts are off the shelf from major manufacturers and not made inhouse by S&S.

Sure, the company was dissolved on the 30th July 2019 so you are probably in the TWMC camp. I’m not sure if it really matters unless you intend to sue them for substantial compensation, in which case like many organisations they would have folded it tout suite anyway. Clearly there’s plenty of evidence of the replacement entity taking on past liabilities as far as repairs go.

It would be great if there’s any soon-to-be P101 owners that can ask MMC what the future of spares looks like and then tell us all the answer.

From what I can ascertain from the Filing History for the Morgan Three Wheeler Ltd (MTWL) on Companies House, it looks like it was created for the supply of M3W to dealers.

The accounts for 2017 show a Zero balance (an only one sale in 2016), so I imagine they may have lost that dealer at that point, or made other arrangements to supply them. It looks like more of a paper exercise rather than a Car Manufacturer. Steve Morris has 17 Morgan related Directorships.

In my experience, subsidiary companies are created for all sorts of reasons (separation of IP, ownership structures, tax or duty optimisation, different employment conditions and possibly separation of liabilities)...

These reasons often become less important with time and then separate companies just come a cost burden with extra admin, tax and regulatory returns - I suspect as part of the overall ownership change for MMC, the special 3 wheeler company was absorbed/wound up as part of a typical clean up. In reality separation of ultimate legal liability is tough unless there is a real difference in ownership structure and management.

In summary, nothing sinister - likely an admin clean up.
