Chaps, I can't believe I'm the first to post about George Russell's brilliant drive ( perhaps I've missed it somewhere ) Shame the fairy tale didn't totally deliver but what a fantastic race.
Now, to complete the story what we need is for George to drive the Merc again next week and Lewis to drive the Williams car and we would then be able to judge how much is car and how much is the driver.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

I don't watch F1 any more. Too predictable, and 99% boring.

As I get older, I find my patience and tolerance is draining away.

Anybody else?

.

It's here Reg F1 - Russell

I was chuffed to bits with the Perez victory he's such a nice cool modest man who deserves a drive next season.

This was the best race for many years from the viewers perspective.

I had just about given up watching F1 until Covid struck and have found the old circuits being re introduced a total tonic and has really mixed everything up.

Looking forward to Ferrari competing upfront next season hopefully too Reg xmascheers.

It's not just a case of the car and the driver ......... that race was thrown away by the Mercedes instructions to pit together and the shambles of a performance from the pit crew.......they only had one job to do ie change the tyres, and they couldn't even get the tyres right.

They destroyed in seconds what could have been a magic moment for George Russell's first drive in a Mercedes, he certainly put Bottas to shame, in a borrowed car that didn't quite fit.

Thanks Rich, I really must get the hang of this computer lark. As for Ferrari, I live in hope but I can't see much of a change coming next season but it will be interesting to see the two young guns racing together in my beloved Red Team.

In my view the best race of the year.
Mr Russell is one to watch. He may not of finished where he could have done, thanks to a total shambles in the pit, but he showed everyone what he is made of, and how he deals with a setback.
The puncture was simply bad luck, but still he didn't give up.

I usually fall asleep half way through ,yesterday was different ,GR had a great drive but it proves that F1 is 90% car 10% driver .
GR did his full10% .

Jimmyw ..... think that puts the drivers down somewhat ..... would guess more 50/50 car driver .... it's just that there are no crap drivers in F1 .... even the very few 'rich daddy drivers' can pedal a car better than pretty much anyone in the general population .... so, if you switch drivers you're still mostly filling the seat with someone very much as skilled as the last bloke .... the top car will give them the edge, but if you put one of the few lesser drivers in the Merc you'd definitely see them more than 10% off the pace.
