I was working on a similar policy a little over three years ago. It seemed to be working (slowly). Then lockdown came along and messed everything up... swear

I have used Bose noise cancelling headphone when travelling for long distances across France. The impact they have on how the car feels is incredible, on a smooth Peage the car almost feels modern and luxurious!,

Interesting, but I thought it was a no no wearing earphones whilst driving in France (like the tint restriction on sunglasses) could someone confirm ?

correct, no headphones allowed here when driving (or riding), though I do use ear plugs and will argue with the Gendarmes if needed that it protects my hearing, though not been challenged yet.

Interesting about the rules in France.
I always wore earplugs whilst riding a bike, noise fatigue is a real issue and noise levels in a full face helmet can be very high.
I wear hearing aids which have a significant noise cancelling option, would they be allowed in France?
They also bluetooth to my phone, so I can listen to music or answer the phone. Would they be legal?

I believe most of the noise comes from the wind in my Morgan.
How much increase in weight from the Dynamat? I plan to loose weight myself to improve performance of my Morgan🙈
And I will never install a radio in my Morgan, I enjoy the exhaust sound, the birds singing 🙂🐤

Not much weight added maybe 3-4 kg at most.

The reason I had the silent coat was to sound deaden a newly acquired 2015 Subaru Forester. They have a reputation for road noise and I decided that after the Merc C 350 I wanted to keep driving a quiet car. In addition, I was on a mission to eliminate a very annoying buzz and rattle from somewhere in the rear (steady).
After stripping out just about every trim trim in the car (I replaced the front speakers at the same time) and sticking every possible moving item down, I reassembled everything and still the buzz was there. Later I discovered that it was the rear centre seatbelt clip buzzing against its garage in the roof over the boot area -oh my days. It even has a factory cushion wrapped around it and is silent as long as it’s fitted into its home properly. Anyway, the Subaru is now very quiet and a joy to own so far.
By the way, I fitted JL Audio C1 speakers to the front doors that have really improved the radio/music sound quality of the stock system. The stock speakers were amazingly flimsy with a magnet that wouldn’t trouble a small screw.

I too have bluetooth hearing aids linked to my phone which is great for the navigation app. How would they know if you were using your hearing aids with the phone?

I suspect this is just one of those areas where technology has run ahead of regulation. Of course they can't fine you for wearing a hearing aid. That your hearing aids also have other functions is hardly your fault....
