I'm clearly a peasant, those properties simply don't look real, more like hotels. Far too big and ostentatious and requiring staff.

This is more the sort of place I'd like to hide in, nice garage as well.

Peter,

I only post these properties as a little distraction and humour they are not for real people and I suspect many have been built to prop up someone's private pension scheme by way of investment, we have many such places in our area and other than to their employees they are totally unknowns to us in the real world.

They provide jobs during construction and subsequent employment for local staff so it's a good thing for the area even if the occasional helicopter gets a bit annoying on a summers afternoon whilst enjoying a little siesta out in the garden.

My feet have always been firmly planted on the ground in more ways than one xmascheers

Richard,

I know they are not real, but they could be furnished with a bit more style and taste!

Coleton Fishacre would be my idea of perfection, stunning art deco and wonderfully sited, but I don't think the National Trust is selling...

Peter,

It would make a spectacular home I agree and the NT are struggling a bit at the moment, you never know they might be open to a cheeky bid.

That is a lovely visit with fabulous gardens and of course a great family history of racing Bentleys I believe, a friend of ours in the village has a modern incarnation and knows the full story but I must confess to only listening for a short while, oops.

The seafood platter is good there for a light lunch.

Then you have the over the top estates that are up here in the mountains, this one is on the other side of our mountain:

Strange the market these days as the world shrinks, the original property in this thread represents terrible value to a New Zealander whereas Peter J's Bodmin one looks great value. I suspect as Richard suggests that at that level they are flying a kite to see what they can catch.

It is too much white. But even a little more colour would hardly help. It shouts "I am expensive" in all directions. But it looks like a sorry mixture of Neuschwanstein and Disneyland. Actually, you can plant it anywhere, and no matter where, it spoils the surroundings and nature. It has to be in the Rockies, of all places, the area I like so much.
