Yes Tim, we have a couple of them as well, they make a helluva racket when they bang their heads off the bat boxes outside our bedroom window at 5am on a summers morning. I've attached a YouTube link to the original post. Now that I've created a YouTube account I thought I'd post these clips of our pine martins as well from 2017 and 2019. We had regular visits by woodpeckers in Bucks. They are such lovely coloured birds, but they are noisy.

Great photo Bob. I think woodpecker numbers must be on the rise, I can't recall ever seeing one when I was growing up but do remember seeing and hearing corncrake, sadly they seem to be wiped out in this area now.
