That isn't what the thermometer said and why the hood is up! Heater on, heated seats on so as snug as a bug in a rug! It could be said that I'm doing what most drivers of modern confertables do, drive with the hood up when the weather is bad.

If truth be known, I quite enjoy driving mine with the roof up from time to time. Very pleasing engine and transmission thrum on top of the usual side pipes, very enjoyable.

The Aero family, and now the CX generation are modern cars, mostly. I enjoy mine because it can be both an "old school" classic soft top and moments later a warm, comfortable modern roadster. When I rode a bike I used electrically heated clothing as I firmly believed that bikes were not fair weather toys and can be used all year, but there is no purpose in being cold and wet. I feel the same about the Plus 8, if the weather is appropriate the hood is down and stays down, but if it means dressing up in layers of winter clothing then I'll put the hood up, turn the heated seats on and crack up the heating. If it is damp outside and the car starts to mist up then I turn on the AC to dry the air: a modern car controls the temperature automatically, a Morgan needs a co-pilot to continuously adjust temperature, fan speed and A/C settings. In my SLK Mercedes managed this in a convertible - it also had the glorious "air scarf". I fail to see why MMC couldn't achieve this with the new CX cars. There does, still, seem to be a "Hair Shirt" mentality at MMC.

Adding weight isn't generally what MMC do.......
The heater is standard. That wasn't always the case in classic British sports cars.

DaveW - What decade was that in ? 40's, 50's and early sixties. MG price lists had the heater as an option. Others would have been the same. In fact the base 105e Anglia didn't have a heater if my memory is holding up. https://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/car-heaters.htm

My Ford 107E Prefect had a "dealer fit" optional heater, I fitted screen washers, a radio and seatbelts... According to Motor Magazine in the day the 0-60mph was 27.2 seconds.... Seemed fast at the time... especially on ice and snow...! Back on thread, I went out to Tesco this morning, 4 miles there and 15 miles back... This was the result... ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/29/Muddy-Mog-2020.jpg) To be honest, it wasn't very clean before! The Michelin Cross Climate tyres make a massive difference, without any "nanny electronics" there is more grip than the C63 has with all the driver aids. I had a play with the Plus 8 on some wet and muddy roads..lots of feedback through the steering and I could sense the back end starting to be unhappy before anything actually happened. As soon as it started to move simply easing off the power brought it back into line. The Plus 8 on winter tyres is as good a car for the winter as it is for the summer. I'm going to leave the Cross Climates on until they start to seem unhappy as temperature rises. From the Michelin web information I won't notice any loss. It could be that unless you want to do track days Michelin Cross Climate tyres are all an Aero S4 based car needs. As an aside, I'm beginning to really dislike turbocharged engines where the turbo and engine computers are set to deliver maximum boost and torque at less than 2000 rpm. Natural aspiration gives much more driver control, but probably at the expense of emissions. I wish Ford did a Mustang Waggon... the C63 Estate would be gone in a heart beat!

Peter you have an answer (another?) to your question. Four seats Big boot Slightly hi-rise so you can SUV adjacent Better still it answers that Jolly progressive should I go Electric question at the same time. Mustang?I would however imagine the "simple" and " nanny free" will not be ticked. Do I sense you are frustrated with the C already?

Not frustration, it needs winter tyres, to be honest. I can't enjoy it in the winter as I do when it is a bit warmer.. The rears are about 40% worn, it has almost new Pilot Sport 4S on the front, I wonder if it would be safe to fit Cross Climates on the back?
I also enjoy driving the Morgan in the cold and wet for the reaction I get from people who think that a Morgan isn't used in the winter...!

It looks good, far better than a Tesla, in my view. With a big V8 it would be even better.... I may have a look when they are at a dealer.
