Good morning all,
I have a 1997 +4 and I am looking to get a magnetic sump plug, I have the Rover engine which I believe is the T16 does anybody know the sizes for the sump plug as when searching on line no suppliers list a Morgan or a Rover, and with so many to choose from it's impossible to say which one will fit without the dimentions.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all.

Look up the website of Wolf Performance. They should have them off the shelf.

Not that this helps in your hunt but someone may find useful - my TR4A-engined Plus 4 takes a 3/8 BSPP plug. I got mine from
Dimple Magnetic Oil Plugs. Good luck with the search. Is not easy to find on the net.

Again this is not the actual answer to your question but look at this page on the Rimmer Bros website
Sump Plug
Got to it by looking at Rover 800 Late Sump - 2000 Petrol, you will also see other cars it fits which might give you some where else to look for actual size.

Or there are these people who list one for £7
Magnetic sump plug

My Haynes manual doesn't give a size
Good luck

This person seems to manufacture them himself in Devon and might be a source though this listing is for the Rover V8.

Hi Blue,

So sorry, I haven't got the answer. If stuck can I suggest a cheap thread gauge and micrometer, nothing too special. Surprising how many times they are useful.

I realised early on my sump is a proprietary item. When servicing my car after dispensing with dealer servicing I then realised the plug, too, was special. A quick check with the gauge and a few measurements allowed me to have one made....just in case.

It will allow you to get a correct item

Regards
