I love my Morgans, and overall the six is an exciting car. but these issues do spoil ownership.
Rant over.

Sorry to read this, I sincerely hope MMC sort the chewing gum wheels out for you and the much highlighted brake issues and seats on these new CX models before it impacts on sales.

I certainly won't be committing to a Plus Four until these issues are resolved by MMC, at 70-80k there are a lot of other choices out there.

Yes Richard. As you say there are a lot of good cars available in the 70-80k bracket

Most of us on here can be guilty of looking at our cars through rose tinted Morgan spectacles but that is not always good for Morgan in the long run. Brakes and steering feel that are well below the market level (at least on my car) and the otehr issues mentioned don't sit well with the premium prices Morgan now charge. Hopefully the new influx of talent at Morgan will enable them to get on top of these issues more quickly with improved production and proper servcie fixes for the cars already sold.

If it is any compensation the CX does appear to have a little opportunity for improvement but it would appear better than the Aero in may respects.

I could not get 1 week of battery life out of the Coupe if I tried. I think mine must have been one with some TVR genes not Lotus. Still love it but it did cause a flare up after we just got it.

I also had a brand new RS6 Performance which had three wheels take a full wobble before I had covered 6000 miles.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Yes Ian, I really hope they sort out the issues for you, at this level of pricing MMC need to take things a lot more seriously than they have with the M3W issues or they will find themselves in serious trouble financially.
As you say the rose tinted spectacles only last so long.

It is such a shame that Morgan are happy enough to let “flawed” cars hit the highways of the world. As others have said, at the price point effective brakes, trim remaining on the car and wheels suitable for use should be the minimum you’d expect. It’s not as if effective breaking and round functioning wheels are non essential items, the excuse of “it is a Morgan” is unacceptable in this day and age on a vehicle that costs this much. Morgan looking into the issues seems to be a common answer, the question should be “how the hell did these get sold with the problems in the first place”?

Interesting comment Almond. I too have owned both Lotus and F type and test driven far too many cars to count including all the Morgan range bar the CX. . In my experience, the only one you will ever drive and find the "Lotus" steering feel is the Maclaren but then they did hire 8 Lotus engineers when starting supercar production. Ferrari are good but not that good. The Jag wasnt bad either. But nothing I have even been in matches a Lotus.

I agree about the Jag. Mine was a V6R and I reckon it was a badly under rated car, at least as good as Porsche in the same price bracket. Unfortunately it suffers from the name and perhaps the fact that its British and therefore labelled unreliable.

The 2 weeks battery life isnt that uncommon. Certainly I was warned about that by the Ferrari dealer and I believe my new to me Merc isnt that far off either. 40 or 50 mA is fairly common to power everything from alarm to clock and immobiliser but some cars go upt to 150mA If your battery is already only half charged the 14 days would see you in trouble,.

Problem is most people dont have a clue how long the engine has to run to fully charge a battery and think that a 15 minute run is enough. In reality if your battery is half charged it will take hours running to get it to full because the charging current drops of sharply as the battery voltage rises.

I suspect that this is less of an issue with modern alternators. There are a number of references to modern charging systems on TM recently.
