Hi folk , I wonder if anyone can help I have a friend with 2017 plus 4 he only has 1 key. We have had a new 1 cut and mounted the original inside the steering vowel this works ok.
The key man wanted to know which car model the transponder comes from. The engine is a Ford gdi. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I haven't had any personal experience of this but if you do a search on here for transponder there is a lot of information.

I have a 2018 +4 which came with three keys one of which I keep in a safe place.
As mentioned elsewhere the transponder in the key reacts with a wire loop around the lock. This wire loop connects into a black box up behind the dash that has been specially made for Morgan by Avonwood Developments Ltd:


This in turn connects to the ECU

So I think the answer is it is bespoke.
I have not asked my dealer but they may be able to program a new key
