TMers have a wealth of knowledge of sourcing “stuff” at any time of year particularly now during lockdown. Many folks can’t or don’t want to visit the shops at the moment and many small food and drink producers have changed their business model to facilitate mail order or have been doing it for years.
So to the point. Would you be so good as to add the websites of your favourite mail order purveyors of food and drink to the thread, I’m not thinking of Tesco’s et al, I’m thinking of supporting the little guys and staying at home.
There was a black pudding and Cornish Pastie maker mentioned some time back on a thread drift ( hard to believe a thread drift on TM I know) anyone remember?

Turners Pies.
I’ve only had the meat ones, they do fruit ones but that’s not for me, and they are brilliant. I’ve ordered many times, they arrive well packed and chilled with reusable liners and ice blocks in the box. Freeze really well. They win awards year after year. Gluten free ones available as well

If you want to support your local food shops, why not give them a call and see if they do deliveries .

Some have started to get behind this idea and the money you would save firing up the car or parking charges etc could be offered for a small delivery contribution.

Only really works for shops with regular local customers who know what they stock but at least you could get your favourites and hopefully help to keep the local shops open.

All very well ordering from online shops but think of the added food miles.

Just checking through their products today it seems they have a fairly limited variety compared to peacetime so don't be put off.

I got all excited. I love springbok, warthog etc but all out of stock.

Mmmmm springbok. Tried it when in Capetown years ago. It was one of the meats on an “African kebab”. Warthog was on it too. The crocodile was a bit tough!

Yes I was a bit disappointed in their stock levels, I think they trade a lot with South Africa which I guess is pretty much at a standstill right now.
I was looking forward to ordering something a bit exotic too, next time.

Our local farm shop / butchers is 250 yards from our house. We order once a month for the freezer to reduce the number of visits and I can easily walk round to collect our order. As you walk in, they list the breeds of current stock and identify which farm it has come from. All their beef and lamb is always their own. Sometimes the pork is their own and sometimes from a farm in the Vale of Belvoir.

In Loughborough, we have a wonderful wine merchant who delivers to local villages. I once price checked him and he was within 50p of Majestic. Now I don't check. His business used to be mainly to local restaurants and he needs the trade.
