Steve, enjoy your +8. For me the early cars with the Rover gearbox, SUs and a brake servo were probably the best in terms of pure driving fun.

Thanks for all your positive comments. The most surprising thing I have found with the car is the gearbox it is really easy to use,I had been led to believe that the rover four speed box wasn’t very good but I have found that each gear clicks in nicely with a satisfying mechanical feel. I had though one of the first things I would need to investigate was the fitting a five speed box but I'm not so sure now.
I had a look at the rollover bar but it has been painted recently so I couldn’t find any stickers saying who made it but it is quite unobtrusive which is always good
Apart from the Speedo reading wrong the only other thing I have found is the choke won’t stay out but that was soon cured with a good old wooden peg .

The rollover bar looks like my Safety Devices one, without the diagonal brace. Meabh.
