"Well, he out-performed Fernando Alonso in the McLaren (not the fastest car that year or the next when he won his first WC in it) in his rookie year and FA did a runner in fright. His greatest strength is that he always gets the most out of any car he is in, so if it is possible to win a WC in a car, he will probably do it. If I was black and had a voice, I would use it too. As for tax, they all do what he does and Monaco looks a great place to live to me."
I do not mean any of my comments forcefully. I have always said I believe he is damn fast. I am looking forward to that being proven/disproven in the near future as F1 could do with spicing up a bit. His lines through corners, balance and other techniques often remind me of Prost but with a bit more push when needed. High praise.
I don't like paying extra tax if I don't have to but even in my position in life I believe that it is good give back when you are able. I would love to see him doing more things like Marcus Rashford does, this is what earns the equity and respect and sadly I do not see this either from his public appearance or the PR delivered around it. Hence my comment.
+1 to all that... ... remember the old Top Gear track? Lewis took a different line into the penultimate corner, which subsequently became the recommended line. That feels like a mark of genius - spotting an advantage by doing something a little differently. I imagine that sort of thinking was what frightened FA :-) ... he doesn't shout about it, but Chairs the Hamilton Commission, that's looking widely at how to diversify the engineering profession https://www.raeng.org.uk/diversity-in-engineering/the-hamilton-commission ... and his extreme E team has said it'll favour team members from diverse backgrounds As for tax - British racing drivers living overseas has been a thing from Jackie Stewart onwards, and I doubt any has received more criticism than Lewis. He's certainly received more flak for saving money on a jet than he's had credit for giving it up to reduce his carbon footprint. Will

I'm pretty sure if he was white he would get nothing but gushing praise.

I always saw Lewis as Lewis, given all his championships he is without doubt the cleanest driver and fastest in all conditions. He came from a mixed race family and got to race from a very early age sorry but that is quite a privileged position to be in . Ron Dennis came along shortly after and the rest is History. I Think all was well with Lewis until he started mentioning the race card and from his exhalted position started spouting off about the envi roment veganism BLM etc etc, his bulldog has a bigger carbon footprint than my family put together. It's a bit sad but there's a bit of Emperor's new clothes going on around Sir Lewis and shame on his hangers on and family for not putting him straight. If he carries on which of course he is quite entitled i fear he will be remembered as the Race Card driver and not the great Race driver he was destined to become.......Em

I disagree. His Dad did 3 jobs so he could go carting at 8 years old. I call that determination, not privilege. From a council house in Stevenage to Sir Lewis Hamilton shows him to be an exceptional person and role model in my book. I didn't agree with much of your post, sorry. But then that's humans...:-)

You make a good point Barry. I had not read about his fathers three jobs.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
