The Harley over-centre clamps didn’t work out as the locking mechanism wasn’t strong enough and broke.
but the truss clamps have been on a few years now and still work (discussed further in the post)
Having been back to the drawing board I've used the following £29
39mm Truss clamps eBay. £14
Stainless eye bolts £ 5
Classic mini rocker cover rubbers & washer kit eBay around £10

I live 8 miles from the factory so I'm going to nip down next week and probably get them to fit the thing. I came with the car so no problem but would I have bought it - probably not albeit they look great when fitted.
Nothing is ever easy with Morgans. At least mine anyway

Actually the roll hoops are pretty thin wall tube, useless as a true roll bar.
The only difficulty in drilling is the drill snagging as with drilling any thin metal.
Drilling at the right height and angle is a challenge as well...

I cheated with the drilling, I got the dealer to fit it as I bought it with the car from new. They took the marked up roll hoops to a local precision engineering firm who drilled them off the car; no risk to bodywork from slipping drills!
